I recently got to spend a beautiful evening with Jamie and her two kids, Raley and Callum. This session was special, as Jamie and I grew up together and hadn’t seen each other in years. It had been so long, in fact, that this was my first time meeting her kids! We had so much fun spending this evening catching up and taking photos, and I’m so excited to share some of my favorite photos!

One of the things that made this session so meaningful was the location. Jamie suggested we take photos in the field on her grandmother’s property, and I was in! As a photographer, I think any time you can capture photos of your family is special, but there’s just something extra magical when your photos can take place in a location that holds meaning for you. This property has been a place of joy and gathering over the years, and photos that reflect a special place like that will be held even closer over the years. It of course was a huge bonus that this property was absolutely *gorgeous* and had the most beautiful trees that let the dreamy sunlight through just perfectly!

One of the first things Raley said to me when I met her was “I’m so excited about photos!” and I immediately knew we were going to have fun. Getting to know this girl and her little brother Callum was such a treat, and I think these photos capture their little personalities perfectly. Raley is quite the performer – she loves singing, dancing, and acting, and she wants to be a singer when she grows up. She had so much fun in front of the camera, and I would bet on her being the next big star! Callum is such a smart little guy, telling me all about space and his dreams to be an astronaut when he grows up. You go, little guy! This brother and sister duo love spending time with each other – their favorite thing is playing Minecraft – and they were so excited to run through the field and show each other love for our photos.

These kids were just a joy to be around and get to know, and I know Jamie feels fortunate to be their mother. Jamie is such a sweet soul herself, and I can see so much of her in her children. As a hardworking NICU nurse, she gives so much of herself to her patients, but she also makes it a priority to homeschool and spend so much quality time with her children. They’re one of those families whose love is tangible, and it was so easy to see how much they care for each other.

Jamie, Raley, and Callum – thank you for spending the evening with me and allowing me to capture your family. You guys are the sweetest!
